Listening to Art, by William Denton.
Volume eight, number one: Isaac Abrahamsz. Massa by Frans Hals.
Hello, and welcome to Listening to Art. I’m William Denton.
In this issue once again we return to a favourite work we have heard before. This 1626 painting was first heard in volume five number four, and I refer the listener to that issue to learn the exciting details of how it was stolen in 1959.
This is a painting, oil on canvas, 65.1 cm wide by 79.7 cm high.
Now let’s listen to Isaac Abrahamsz. Massa by Frans Hals, recorded at the Art Gallery of Ontario, in Toronto, on 12 July 2020.
That was Isaac Abrahamsz. Massa by Frans Hals. I hope you enjoyed listening to it as much as I did.
